Pure Water to Climb the Pyramid: To help developing communities to escape from the bottom of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
THE PROBLEMS
Water
423 Million people use water from unimproved wells and springs.
263 Million people can get water from an improved source, but it is at least 15 minutes distant from their homes.
159 Million people collect and use untreated surface water…from creeks, ponds, ditches, rain catchment, etc.
Over 2 Billion people use a drinking water source contaminated with feces from animals or humans, an indicator that potentially very serious pathogens could be present in the water.
By 2025, half the world’s population will be living in water-stressed areas.
Power
NO POWER: About 840 Million global residents still exist with no electricity access, even after all the technological advances made in recent history!
Obviously, with no electricity access, this 11% of the world population is being left out on the edges of all modern society run by electricity.
This situation is especially acute in Sub Sahara Africa. Most countries in this huge region exist with more than half of their people having no electricity. In some countries, the percentage of citizens with no electricity is above 90%.
INTERRUPTED POWER: Each year, hurricanes, typhoons, floods, earthquakes and various other natural disasters sever power connections for hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. Infrastructure failures, rolling blackouts, forced outages, terrorist attacks, wars, etc. add to the power-less. These power service interruptions can last weeks, months or even years.
Food
795 Million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy life.
41 Million people in the United States do not have enough food to lead a healthy life.
In the developing countries, 12.9% of the population is undernourished.
In Sub Sahara Africa, about 25% of the population is undernourished.
Poor nutrition causes 45% of deaths in children under five…about 3,100,000 children each year.
66 Million primary school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world, with 23 Million in Africa alone.
OUR SOLUTIONS FOR PURE WATER TO CLIMB THE PYRAMID
Our new technology gives people the opportunity to satisfy their Biological Needs for Water and Food, allowing them a better chance to satisfy their higher growth needs.
Millions of the world’s people are stuck at the very base of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. We want to help them escape the bottom and achieve other need satisfactions climbing up the pyramid.
With our new technology solutions, everything starts with power and clean, safe drinking water. We offer various power generation, water purification and food growing systems, but all begin with clean water. Starting with safe, clean water, people can satisfy their potable water needs, grow better crops and farm better fish.
Depending on specific local situations and needs, we can offer:
1. Systems to provide on-site power from diesel generators or solar panels; water purification for up to 20 tons per day per machine of up to 99.99% pure water for drinking, cooking, cleaning and food preparation.
2. Systems and methods for significantly increased local production of food plants and fish.
3. An avenue toward higher and higher need satisfactions.
Satisfying the Need for Pure Water to Climb the Pyramid:
We can provide equipment to make on-site, almost anywhere, cascades of safe, clean drinking water from locally available water sources…contaminated wells, polluted streams, dirty ditches, slimy ponds, bad tap water, etc. We can even provide desalination equipment if the local water source is brackish or salty water from the ocean.
Our most popular model, the SQN water purifier, can purify from both polluted fresh water sources and from contaminated salt water.
Depending on each situation, we can supply water purification equipment that operates solely on solar power, or in combination with electric grid power or power generated from a diesel generator equipped watermaker.
Up to 5,000 gallons of drinking water per day per SQN or AQN can be produced from fresh water sources. Depending on water usage, this amount can satisfy many, many thirsty people. 5,000 gallons is the equivalent of 20 tons of clean water or a large semi-trailer truckload of about 39,504 half-liter bottles of water.
Power Need Satisfaction:
Our experience shows that over 90% of all situations with no power access also experience very limited access to clean drinking water. Therefore, we pattern our solutions to the resolution of both critical-to-survival lacks of power and pure water.
We can custom design solutions to balance the needs for power and the needs for pure water. This balance can come from blending our Individual Units and our proprietary HELP Responder™ Trailers. We can modify the pure water production and the power generation units within these alternatives to suit situational demands.
Individual Units:
We can solve water and power problems with either Individual Watermaker Units and Powermaker Units, or from “Total Solutions” like the new HELP Responder™.

HELP Responder™ Trailer:
The new HELP Responder™ trailer bundles various combinations of Individual Units into an integrated system of extraordinary versatility. Its versatility can dramatically increase operational strategic flexibility, especially in complex disaster situations.
The new HELP Responder™ is a 20-foot trailer towed by a pick-up truck. It can hold up to 4 SQNs, 2 AQNs, 124 kW of Battery Storage and has attached, fold-out solar panels that generate 6 kW. A supplemental Solar PowerFold™ (SPF) solar panel array can generate an additional 124 kW of green power.
This HELP Responder MAX™ can purify water at rates of up to 28,000 GPD rated capacity. This is the equivalent of 6 semi-trailer truckloads of bottled water.
The HELP Responder™ trailer contents can be customized for different situations. Different quantities of watermaking and powermaking equipment can be installed to produce different quantities of pure water and power.

Food Need Satisfaction:
Good, safe food production depends on safe, clean water.
Our water purification equipment rids contaminated source water of parasites, amoebae, viruses, bacteria and heavy metals. All of these can further contaminate the plants and fish that grow in it.
Maladies like bad e-coli, dysentery, typhoid fever and Hepatitis A can be avoided by using clean water throughout the food chain.
Good food sources are edible plants and many fish species. Both can be bountifully grown with the systems and methods we can recommend.
We can recommend Aquaculture (Fish Farming) systems, Hydroponic (Soilless Plant Growing) systems and a combination of both systems (Aquaponics).
With all our systems, we employ a new technology that significantly increases yield of both plants and fish, yet is safe and uses no nasty chemicals.
We and our partners can provide the equipment, new technology and education of local organizations about how to operate it.
