Providing access to cascades of clean, safe, fresh water made from sea or ocean salt water to any community near the over 300,000 miles of world, non-ice coastlines with HydroVolt desalination solutions for drinkable oceans
THE NEED FOR DESALINATION SOLUTIONS FOR DRINKABLE OCEANS
97% of the world’s water is salt water…and humans can’t drink it!
71% of the earth’s surface is salt water…and humans can’t drink it!
There are 139,400,000 square miles of surface salt water on earth…and humans can’t drink it!
There are 4.8 Billion gallons of salt water for every man, woman and child on earth…and humans can’t drink it!
Truly, water, water everywhere. And not a drop to drink!
Indeed, while 2 billion of the world’s population thirsts for drinking water, millions of tons of potential drinking water sloshes around in sight just off-shore. Such is the case on more than 300,000 miles of non-ice coastline.
Africa, where millions of people are water-stressed, has over 18,000 miles of ocean coastline.
Southeast Asia has hundreds of islands and thousands of miles of coastline, but many areas still have a drinking water shortage.
Pacific and Caribbean islands abound, but water restrictions or remoteness limit water usage on many of them.
Globally, there are around 2,000 islands and many of them have shortages of fresh, clean, safe water.
OUR DESALINATION SOLUTIONS FOR DRINKABLE OCEANS
For communities near salt water, we can provide new technology, portable desalination units that operate on solar power, electric grid power or internal diesel generator power. Our most popular model for off-grid ocean water desalination is the SQN.
These units can make on-site clean, safe, fresh water that is up to 99.99% pure for drinking, cooking, bathing, and food preparation. And plenty of it…up to 2,500 gallons per day at rated capacity. That is about 10 tons of water or the equivalent of about 19,752 half-liter bottles of water. That means the community could make, on-site where needed, as much pure water in two days as could be delivered in one semi-trailer truckload of bottled water.
Purified water can be used immediately from the desalination unit or stored safely for future use.
If additional electric power is needed for the community, we can provide a solar power generator system that can generate up to 108 kW.
We can make fresh-water-from-salt-water by dropping a 2” diameter intake hose into the ocean and desalinating the water. Over 300,000 miles of coastline will hold a lot of 2” diameter hoses, and could provide fresh drinking water to millions of water-starved people.
